Instruction

Birkdale's practice facility boasts a two-tiered, all-grass tee driving range, a large putting green, and a chipping green complete with a green-side bunker for practice and instruction. Our experienced golf professionals look forward to helping you improve your game with a teaching philosophy that revolves around your individual needs and desires. We will work with you to set goals and expectations for your progress, as well as develop lesson plans around your schedule and specific areas of interest.

Operation 36 Instructional Programs

Calling all kids!

Birkdale Golf Club & Brandermill Country Club have adopted the Operation 36 Program to grow our junior golfers. Opeartion 36 is a long-term family coaching program designed to progress golfers towards shooting par or better for nine holes. Golfers of all ages and abilities can join and begin processing through the six levels of development. Tim Sheffield
Director of Golf, Acumen Golf Academy

Tim has been involved in the golf industry as a teaching pro for over 30 years. He is a Richmond native and has lived in Woodlake for many years. Tim uses sound teaching principles for his students' games by applying a simplified approach to learning the golf swing. Since retiring from his non-golf professional career, Tim started the US Kids Golf program at Birkdale and serves as one of its certified instructors. Tim is a welcome addition to our Golf Academy and will be available to members for clinics and instruction.
